Job Description:

The Senior Vacations Sourcing Consultant is responsible for supporting business development and ongoing management of partners to deliver desired product offering. This role will carry out key functions in support of negotiations with multiple partners including lodging, ground transportation, experiences, joint marketing and other vacations across multiple key markets. The Senior Vacations Sourcing Consultant is a strong communicator with a strategic mindset, who is ready to drive the future of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
 

 

  • Work closely with senior manager of Vacations Sourcing across key markets to build and maintain key partner relationships including lodging, ground transportation, experience/attractions, destination management companies, and other Vacations component partners such as convention and visitor bureaus
  • Build and maintain relationships with key multi-region partners to ensure alignment with business vision and objectives
  • Monitor business performance and escalate concerns as necessary to senior manager
  • Identify opportunities to optimize partner or market performance in order to generate incremental revenue through marketing or merchandising opportunities
  • Help resolve back-end issues such as payments to partners and adherence to contractual terms in partnership with Vacations Strategy and Technology teams
  • Provide input into partner negotiations as needed, including quantitative analysis
  • Lead business case with key suppliers such as hotels, attractions, and aggregators and works with key stakeholders on VBE integration
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Education

 

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience

 

  • Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
    • Supplier negotiations, purchasing, and typical contract terms for airline, lodging, or ground transportation supplier contracts
    • Working across commercial functional areas (e.g., marketing, customer loyalty, merchandising, pricing/revenue management) to identify and inform optimal contract terms
    • Leisure travel industry merchandising and distribution environment and key players in the industry
    • Developing long-term partner relationships and identifying high potential revenue-generating partnerships

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the end to end supplier ecosystem
  • Display strong understanding of key business drivers while monitoring business performance
  • Ability to make decisions with limited information
  • Demonstrates advanced subject matter knowledge of vacation business, partner negotiations/relationship management, and supplier ecosystem

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be able to travel 40% of the time

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $113,000 per year to $125,500 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
